You did a great job articulating the merits/characteristics of this book. If I were a patron reading (or hearing) this type of description, I would definitely have a good sense of what I was getting into. For me, the language really matters in all books, but especially in non-fiction, where the "friendly and everyday words" that you describe will be sure to help me understand the subject matter, and not be put to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThis book reminded me of a similar book I began reading in the summer and I need to finish. That book is Turn Your Pain Into Art by Ariel Bloomer. It is a self-growth book that includes personal stories from Ariel's life. Yet, it is more about using the pain we have in life to be creative and then that creativity can assist in personal growth.
ReplyDeleteGreat job filling this matrix out! This isn't a book I was familiar with but your detailed post gives me a great feel for it! Full points and job well done!
